Steiff Beehive Perpetual Calendar 027307 - very rare
This 2001 set is rarely- if ever - found for sale on EBay UK
It was offered as a Limited Edition of only 2,001 worldwide to Club members - this one is number 458
The wooden beehive calendar carries a brass plaque to the rear which bears the limited edition number, and also has a brass “ear button” and white label which also corroborates to the number on the certificate of authenticity
The set was offered as four lots when first issued in 2,001
It comprises a painted wooden calendar, 12 miniature bears and wooden tiles that represent the days, months of the year
It is brand new and all the sets are contained in their original Steiff packaging and held complete in a numbered cardboard postage box
It is extremely large and very heavy
The Beehive Shaped / Painted Wooden Board measures 56 cm tall (22 inches) × 46 cm wide (18 inches)
Side Profile (with shelves) measures approximately 7 cm wide or 2 3/4 inches
Slide-in tiles can be changed to match the current month's date arrangement, making this one calender you'll never need to replace.
One side of the month tiles are in German, the other in English.
The beehive-shaped calender base holds 12 miniature Limited Edition Steiff bears themed according to the month.
Each of the 12 bears measures approximately 6cm / 2.5 inches seated and is made from genuine mohair, with suede pads and stitched noses
Every one is fully articulated and carries an original Steiff card chest tag, and wears a gold plated Steiff button in a white ear tag
