With inspiration taking from the traditional Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Little Brother and Little Sister, Steiff created this glorious duo of the same name for their Fairy Tale World Series.
Little Brother is a 12 cm / 4.75" fawn with a turn-able head.
He has been sewn from the finest beige cotton velvet, with textured white chest and tail accents.
Delicate hand shading, stencilling and painting have bought detail, shape and definition to the darling little fawn, bringing endearment to his appealing face, enhancing his glossy black safety eyes and hand stitched features.
In finishing he wears a woven golden collar, complete with a gold coloured jingle bell.
Little Sister is a 15 cm / 6" fully jointed, character teddy bear.
She has been sewn from the finest, luxury pale-blonde mohair, with warm wool felt paws, glossy black safety eyes and brass hued, stitched features upon her captivatingly pretty face.
She wears a short sleeved floral print dress, with ruffle trimmed sleeves and a lace trim underskirt.
A slim satin ribbon berry-red bow sits upon her head marrying with the decoration of her dress.
This glorious set was made as a Worldwide Limited Edition of just 1,000 sets
It comes boxed with both pieces featuring the same limited edition number on their ear tags, as their numbered certificate of authenticity.
It is being sold from my personal collection and is completely as new in an unplayed with condition.

The story of little brother and sister
“…. A brother and sister run away from their wicked stepmother (a witch), who upon realising their disappearance, casts a spell through-out the forest into which they have ventured.
Little Brother drinks from an enchanted stream turning him into a fawn. Little Sister stands by her sibling and they begin to live a happy existence in the forest.
Time passes and one day the King's hunting party follows the deer back to the house. There the King sees Little Sister and asks her to marry him.
Not long after she has a son. Their evil stepmother discovers the truth and kills Little Sister, replacing her with her own disfigured daughter, after placing a transformation spell on her to look like Little Sister.
After the ghost of Little Sister visits her baby for three consecutive nights, the King realises and once he embraces her ghost, it brings her back to life.
The wicked step mother and step sister are punished, with the latter being banished into the woods. The step mother, being a witch is burned at the stake, at which point Little Brother becomes human again, bringing the story to a happy end.”
