Brickwood's Portsmouth Brewery - Beer Tray - 1950/60s.  From the glory days, when just about every street in Pompey had a Brickies pub.

A nice condition metal pub tray from the iconic Brickwoods Pub dating from the 1950s/60s.

There are some marks and wear on the tray, but really in nice condition for its age. The picture and colors and still clear and vivid.

Brickwoods Ltd tin tray dating from the 1950s. The origins of the business date back to 1851 when Fanny Brickwood purchased the Cobden Arms Brewery in Landport, starting the Brickwoods family involvement with the brewing industry for the next 120 years. In 1887, they purchased the Portsmouth Brewery of Tessier & Co. and the business was registered as Brickwood & Co. Ltd in 1891. The Company purchased Dormer Jewell & Son's Catherine Brewery, Portsea, in 1899, which was rebuilt as the Portsmouth Brewery, transferring all brewing from Tessier's old brewery in 1902. Between 1899 and 1952, Brickwood & Co. Ltd purchased twelve breweries, and local dominance was achieved in 1953 when the company acquired Portsmouth & Brighton United Breweries Ltd and its public houses. The name of the brewery was changed from Brickwood & Co. Ltd to Brickwoods Ltd in 1953.
