Antique 18thc Wedgwood and Bentley Etruria Polished Black Basalt Vase/ Urn c1770

 Fabulous Wedgwood and Bentley polished black basalt urn standing 12 inches high on a square base 3.25 inches x 3.25inches.

 The urn/vase is decorated with winged putti and garlands of leaves.

 The applied reliefs are very deep and very crisply modelled.

 The basalt quality is fabulous.

Sadly, this wonderful vase /urn is not in good condition:

 There are chips to the square base.

 Damages, losses and repairs to the top.

 It has at some point been converted to a lamp and only the screw remains.

 Although not clear to see but could well be missing the original handles.

 In spite of the obvious damage, it remains a superb item of fantastic quality.

 It has the Wedgwood & Bentley Etruria mark on the base.

 A wonderful, marked Wedgwood and Bentley urn/ vase it still displays very well and would make a useful reference item to any collection.
