Offered for your consideration is a vintage Esterbrook Model M2 squeeze-filler fountain pen, manufactured in the USA c.1960. The M2 was introduced around 1959, and, taking after PARKER’s Aerometric filling system, used a tubular nylon bulb with metal squeeze bar for filling.
This Esterbrook Model M2 features a matte-finished, horizontally-striated metal cap over an attractive turquoise barrel with chrome-plated steel clip.

This Esterbrook M2 is in clean, excellent condition. It measures 5¼” long capped, 6⅛” with cap posted atop, and roughly ½” wide at cap bottom. There are no dings, cracks, scratches, or tarnish to the cap/barrel, just some practically invisible signs of use from the years. Plus, the cap screws to the barrel correctly, securely, and the clip rests tight on the cap with no gap. And, the Esterbrook® barrel imprint is plainly visible. Overall, this old Esterbrook presents exceptionally well.
The pen has Esterbrook’s 9555 Gregg extra fine firm nib that looks to be in great shape, as pictured. I haven’t inked or written with the pen, but did give it a repeated rinsing in cool water to chase out the residual ink from the nib, feed, and cap. During the cleaning process, it drew and expelled water without fail, so it will be the same with ink. The Model M2 has good mass, nice balance, and should be a great writer for the new owner!
