Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev (1831 -1905) St. Petersburg, Russia. The artist was the main competitor to E. Lanceray. Both of them together made a realy great input to the Russian sculptural art by competing and inspiring each other during the period of 1873 – 1886. He cast all his works at Woerffel foundry.

Recently found at a very high end estate sale.  Large bronze sculpture that weighs about 20 pounds.  9 inches high, and 5 inches wide, and 8 inches from head to tail.  Beautifully done and signed by the artist in Russian Cyrillic.  Also the foundry is marked clearly "Woerffel" and it is the only foundry that Vassily GRACHEV used.
