Mount Rainier was first known by the Native Americans as Talol, Tahoma, or Tacoma, from the Puyallup word “mother of waters" is the highest peak in the Cascade Range at 14,410 feet (4,392 m) and stratovolcano. In the February 24, 1893 governor of Washington Joan McGraw approves the letter for the third state school for training teachers of the state, the new normal school of Whatcom. The normal school of Whatcom is opened in Bellingham in 1899. The school will often change its name. The western university of the state of Washington in 1937, the western university of the state of Washington in 1961 and finally in 1977 it will obtain the name that it has today: Western university of Washington università Universität université universidad.
