Project Challenges Explanation

Project Challenges Explanation continued

Special Note 1 – this vehicle really ought to be physically inspected (near Sheerness, Kent) by any potential next custodian and its respective levels of perceived awfulness or magnificence pondered upon, although this short duration auction offer will presumably present certain timing challenges in that department to any interested parties who might wish to have a go at that sort of pre-purchase decision assisting process. An assessment of its condition will instead also be available solely by accepting this description as being reasonably accurate and well-intended, whilst perusing the accompanying photos, but that approach would also involve the implicit acceptance of the bona fides of the two further notes presented below

Special Note 2 – I have attempted to describe the condition of this vehicle in an unexpurgated fashion. However, there are some areas that I have not fully explored and there may be others where I have stated something that does not quite match up to the reality, wherever I may have come to an incorrect judgement about some of the either presently applicable or historically pertinent factors

Special Note 3 – Regardless of the notes of caution already presented in Special Note 2 (above), the principle of caveat emptor applies here anyway, just as it always will do in any non-business marketplace within this jurisdiction (always assuming that said principle is still generally accepted to be an ongoing component of the common law of the UK in a situation such as this)

Collecting and taking away practicalities – Many of the loose parts could be stashed relatively simply inside the vehicle somewhere for transport purposes or could be returned temporarily to their original locations, as many have been already. However, if the complete set of included parts were to be loaded in such a fashion, then possibilities of damage in transit might arise, which is particularly applicable to the windshield and backlight glass, so a collection operation where some of the loose parts could be transported in the towing vehicle, or in an accompanying vehicle, would simplify the total set of processes likely to be involved

Update Wednesday May 8th - an investigation carried out on Monday has identified the nature of the problems that had some while back been encountered when attempting to turn the engine and transmission via the crankshaft nut. The starter motor turned out to be ridiculously loose and must have been binding on the ring gear. Starter motor now removed and degreasing of it is in progress. I shall not be taking that cleaning up process onto the equally grubby engine and PowerFlite (see today’s additional photos). Engine/trans, however, do now turn quite happily via a suitable wrench (prop shaft not installed, so no turning of the final drive is taking place under such circumstances).
