This is an outstanding value dreadnought sized guitar from Gretsch. It has a slope shouldered body, so doesn't feel as big as some dreadnoughts, a feeling also helped by the 24.75" scale length (which also reduces the string tension a bit)
It looks great too with the black top set off by the tortoise shell scratchplate and body/neck binding.
The pickup is passive and has no volume/tone controls - just stick it into an amp and play. Interestingly, it sounds really good with some distortion to give a great blues tone.
There are loads of reviews on-line so check them out if you want more of a low-down and to hear what it sounds like.
You could buy one new - but this one has the advantage of being set-up, having the fretboard waxed with some 'Montypresso' wax (which gives a slightly darker tint), having a set of Elixir strings fitted and a set of Ebony bridge pins which are a huge improvement over the plastic ones fitted as standard - a greatly improved tone.
