Fully titled: The Elements of Scientific Agriculture for Students and Farmers; with appendix. A book proudly stating it is ' adapted to the syllabus if the Science and Art Department, South Kensington. The name and date inscribed in pencil in the top right corner of the front inner flysheet says 1886 ( thankfully we have that as there is no 'direct' publisher's information. But it has no re-edition or edition or revised edition information, so one can assume from the preface dated September 1881, that this is a first edition hardback of John J Pilley's work.
It is in very good condition. A few creased pages but on the whole, very nice.
