Beautiful Victorian Crescent Necklace with opals and green garnets, Circa 1880.

This piece was converted from a pin. It’s in excellent condition! The crescent measures 27mm across, a nice size not too big or small.

This pictures in my opinion do not do the piece justice. The white opals have specks of blues , green and pinks that really pop up with light hitting them.

The green garnets are vibrant and sparkly.

The gold chain is a belcher 1.5mm 16” chain in 9ct.

The crescent passed the acid test for 10k but at 14k the line tested by acid lightens but is still present. Since European gold jewelry is and has been either 9ct, 12ct, 15ct or 18ct this piece is around 12ct.
