Sir Cecil Spring Rice served with the British Foreign Office, in Washington, Japan, Germany, Constantinople, Persia, Cairo, Russia, and Sweden, from the 1880's until 1917. Included are his letters to Theodore Roosevelt and Senator Cabot Lodge about the Spanish-American War, and Roosevelt's letters to him about the Philippine Insurrection.
