Backup battery is dead so the netbook   loses its date and time settings when unplugged - leaving it plugged in gets around this issue.

This is a netbook therefore it doesn't have a CD drive, you can add an external one if you wish.

Please remember that XP Hasn't been supported by Microsoft for many years now and it's ability to work online without an updated Internet browser may well be limited.
