This is an incredible estate find, a very old German set of 14 games with incredible boards, tokens, and pieces.

The game is incomplete, missing some pieces, but complete enough to impress. Of special note are the boards, wooden tokens, magnetic fishing game, and more.

It even has the original manual!  If you speak German, or have the patience to translate, or use Google Iens to translate, you can figure out all these games!

The three boards are each 11" square, double-sided, and seem to be some sort of high quality hard paper board with some sort of waxy coating.

Each of these is beautiful enough to frame as art, except you'd have to decide on which side to display.

The boards include some wild game art - my favorite is a yellow and red board with groups of birds doing everything from cooking to flying flower kites to getting married to playing musical instruments.  It's opposite side has what appears to be some sort of primitive German Chutes & Ladders type game.

The second board Side A is about the adventures of a goose, in which is everything from fox attacks to lobster attacks to riding on a train.  Its opposite side has some sort of city navigation game that involves bicycles and motorcycles and automobiles.

The third board has a handsome brown and white checkerboard, and on the opposite side is some sort of grid based game. There's also some sort of multicolored number game on the bottom of the box, and some sort of multi-hold for that may be for tossing things through?

And let's not forget the four-sided unfoldable box that's covered in fish. There are a number of fish game pieces with small staples through them and a magnet on a string that allows you to fish for everything from old boots to legendary catches.  There's a large stick in the game separate from everything else but I'm fairly confident that used to be the fishing rod, and you would need to reattach the magnet to it.

Token wise there's a fantastic old, but incomplete, chess set and wood checkers.  There's also a large number of various game pieces in multiple colors, please see pictures.  The collection rounds out with a group of pick up sticks, some sort of clown piece, and a metal 'attach/detach' puzzle.

This was clearly originally sold as an assortment of 14 games.

6 of them were the various boards.  One board counts twice for checkers and chess, giving us seven.  Eight for the fishing game. Nine for the metal puzzle.  10 for pick up sticks. 11 might be that clown game?  12 for the colored numbers on the bottom of the box. 13 for the board with lots of holes in it. I have no idea what the 14th game is, possibly another dual use board using the grid.

I do not read German, but based on the text in the manual I believe the various games are called:

Das Damespiel

Leiterspiel

Das Mikado-Spiel

Das Muhlespiel

Das Halma-Spiel

Nur keine Aufregung

Shach (chess! I get this one!)

Ringe

Nagel

Verkehrsspiel

Hutchen-Spiel

Das Angelspiel

Vogelhochzeit

Mein Gansespiel

This game is a treasure of wonderful game boards and tokens. It's the kind of thing I love finding at estate sales, you can feel the history in these pieces.

I hope it finds a great home!
