Beautiful Set of Four Ridgway Bone China 22cm Dessert Plates c1830 Pattern #1163
A rather beautiful matching set of four Ridgway 22cm hexagonal dessert plates made at the Cauldon Place factory in Stoke on Trent c1830. Beautifully decorated with an underglaze blue arcaded border with heavy leaf gilding. There are six mulicoloured hand-painted floral sprigs (one in each arch) with a simple gilt centre circle. The gadrooning to the edge is highlighted in gilt.
There is a crack in one plate from the outer rim on one side to the foot rim on the opposite side (and no other damage) and the other plates have no chips or cracks. There is age-related wear to all plates, most prominent where the foot of one plate sits on the one below when stacked. Please see pictures for more information.
Each plate is 22cm diameter and weighs ~388g.
