Large French bronze award to a Hungarian intelligence officer 1945-1995 István Dercze (Dunakisvarsány, January 25, 1941 – Budapest, May 24, 2004) is an intelligence officer and diplomat. He spoke French and Italian. After completing his university studies, the Ministry of the Interior III/I. The officer of his group chief, i.e. the Hungarian civil intelligence (1964-1990). In the meantime, he was an employee of the Ministry of Justice between 1966 and 1969, in parallel (on a strictly secret staff), then a lecturer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1969, an assigned diplomat at the embassy in Paris (1970-1974).

Consul General from 1983, head of the Consular Department of the Hungarian Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General in San Marino, p. I. secretary, in the rank of consul general until 1987. He became the head of the Group Chief of the BM III/I in the rank of colonel on December 1, 1989. He led the process of system change within intelligence, as the last head of the III/I Group Chief and the first head of the Information Office of the Republic of Hungary (1990).
