I don't know how to get these working

I bought it as working but it arrived with disk drive not reading the reference disk it was supplied with so I'm selling as I want to recuperate costs

it works but cannot get the reference disk to work which means I cant set the clock or tell it there's a hard drive installed

You press the F1 key and it tells you to put the reference disk in, you put that in and there's just a single flashing "-" (underscore), you press F1 twice and it goes to basic language like what a C64 has. 

the battery is also flat and it takes a weird shaped 6v one
