UP FOR AUCTION:

A rare find, this is a large beautiful antique single-spout cast iron skillet made in the 1800s. Amazing condition for its age (100 – 120 years old). Still maintains a smooth as glass surface, no cracks. Bottom has the gate mark and 3 little knobby feet that allows this skillet to sit flat, no spinning.

I am not sure what the number 6 or 9 on the bottom indicates as the measurements of this skillet coincide with a modern day #12 skillet. It measures 17 inches from handle, 13 inches across (from spout) and 2.3/8  inches deep.

This is a very rare skillet, and it looks amazing. The really, really well-made skillets, the great ones, they often feel lighter and that's the case with this one. One of my best finds of the year so far. It has been restored but I leave the seasoning up to you as everyone has their own way of seasoning cast iron. Check out the photos carefully for a closer look as they are part of the description.
