Tylosaurus tooth
Tylosaurus is a species of extinct marine reptile that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70-66 million years ago. It belonged to the family Mosasauridae, which are large, predatory marine reptiles closely related to modern-day monitor lizards and snakes. Mosasaurus hoffmanni was one of the largest mosasaur species, reaching lengths of up to 15 meters (49 feet).
This species had a streamlined body with powerful jaws filled with sharp teeth, ideal for capturing and eating a variety of prey, including fish, squid, and other marine reptiles. Its limbs were modified into paddle-like structures for efficient swimming, and it likely navigated the ocean depths with ease.
