Here we have on offer another very special item for vintage fur lovers and fur collectors. For the auction today is a one of a kind, a gorgeous and extremely rare vintage Christian Dior coat/trench with real Russian sable fur collar and cuffs and a removable Golden sable fur lining. It was designed to a very high special order in the 80's and it is hardly possible to find another one like this on eBay or anywhere else. The coat is warm and stylish and well worth considering if you are looking for warmth, comfort and confidence with plenty of style but without being too loud.

The coat was designed by "Christian Dior boutique fourrure" in France in a trench style with real Russian sable fur collar and cuffs and lined with full pelt real golden sable fur.  

It was made from a shower proofed type  fabric in a gold sand/cream colour with a slight shimmer effect. The main coat/shell is fully lined with matching coloured silky material with a Christian Dior "CD" pattern all over and has a detachable lining that is made from quality real golden sable fur. The fur lining joins to the coat with usual small buttons. The sable collar and the cuffs are joined to the lining so they can be removed together with the fur lining.

The collar and the cuffs have been made from Russian sable fur, reckoned to be the most expensive and most sought after fur in the world! The fur of Russian sable is dense, soft, silky, warm and very lightweight. This coat would have cost a fortune to buy, even back in the 80's because the finest sable only comes from Russia and only a very small amount was exported every year as sales were very limited. Even today nothing has really changed and the very best top quality Russian sable will still cost you a King's ransom and as warm and light in weight as it is heavy in price!

The shell of the coat is in excellent vintage condition with only a minor imperfection (a small mark/spot on the sleeve) that is not noticeable at all when coat is worn. The sable fur is in excellent vintage condition without any kind of damage. The pelts are very pliable and supple; the fur is incredibly soft, thick, dense and silky to the touch, very lightweight and it is free from any unpleasant/musty odours. An  authentic "Christian Dior" label is attached to the fur lining. 

The coat also has two pockets and fastens with 3 "CD" monogrammed large buttons and a tie-belt. Wearing the coat with a belt helps in creating a slim-line fitted coat to show off your figure to its best. However, the coat will look equally great whichever way you decide to wear it. 

So this is quite an opportunity to buy yourself a truly awesome and extremely rare coat that cost a £££ fortune £££ to buy when new! Enjoy your bargain or treat someone special!

As nearly all vintage fur coats were made to special orders by set individual measurements then it is really difficult to specify a standard size. You can see how this coat looks on the mannequin (5’10” or 179 cms and approx a UK size 8). We think that the coat should fit comfortably from a UK large size 8 to a size 12, depending on how loose you would prefer the coat to be but please check the approximate measurements given below:

Underarm to underarm = 21.5" or 54 cms

Length from collar to hem (back) = 38.5"or 98 cms

Sleeve from shoulder to cuff = 23" or 58 cms (full length)

Underarm to cuff = 17" or 43 cms

Across the shoulders is about 16" or 40 cms

Hem = 68.5” or 174 cms

Belt - 63" or 160 cms

The coat weighs 1.7 kg (without packaging).

The coat was photographed with a real Russian sable headband and other hats. However they are not included with the sale and will be listed separately.
