He joined the Navy in 1913 and served throughout WW1 and rose through the ranks to become a senior officer
Sadly he lost his life when HMS Barham was torpedoed
His 1914 – 15 Star is marked CLK H. G. WILLIAMS, R.N.

Barham took part in the battle of Jutland during WW1
The ship was sunk by German Submarine U331 in 1941 off the coast of Egypt.
Shortly after being torpedoed there was a massive magazine explosion and 862 men lost their lives
