Let's talk about the Gem, a kind of hidden gem of a reel from Pflueger USA fly division. This one likely made in late 1940's. Tell tale is the chrome steel foot fastened with four screws. Two size Gem's were made, this is the 2095, largest of the two. Pillars are made of brass.  All the retainers are rivets and they will never loosen as do screws. This reel weighs only 6 oz with the original line. The frame is about 1" wide and 3.5" across. Referred to as a coin slot spool because any coin will fit the slot and unscrew the spool screw for cleaning or lube. This reel is mechanically impressive, no wobble, spins nicely, firm click in both directions.
