W Britain D-Day to VE-Day series was issued in 1994. The tasks delegated to the Allied Military Police in the European War were both numerous and varied. It was their responsibility to keep the vital roads to the front line open, to make sure supplies and equipment were directed to the correct location, to ensure that friendly forces behaved correctly within the liberated area and to patrol the rear areas of the fighting zone to guard against enemy infiltration. The US Military Police wore white helmets when they were out of the combat zone, hence their nickname - Snowdrops. This set comprises a British Military Policeman and American Military Policeman.
