1951-D (Denver mint mark) Commemorative Silver Half Dollar, featuring George George Carver and Booker T. Washington, two prominent African Americans.  The coin, and in particular its reverse design, was intended to promote patriotism and a distrust of communism among Black Americans, in the midst of the Civil Rights movement -- which makes it a very interesting bit of US history.

Only 10,004 of the 1951 mintage were struck at Denver, making this coin quite rare.

While I am not a professional coin grader, I would say this one may have been lightly circulated or otherwise handled, yet is in XF or even AU condition.  So please judge the condition by yourself using the photos provided.
