DESCRIPTION:
Real antique, handmade ceramic dish, probably 1900-1920s, or before, museum piece, full glazed, perfect technique with beautiful repeating patterns and fantastic colors, the dark cobalt blue, soft turquoise, with white between the patterns, coral, etc.and tulips in back. The dish is sealed on its reverse side, with a round illegible, mystery seal, which I have not located, I read the word "Jerusalem" which maybe refers to the Karakashian-Balian family, or onother old potter of Jerusalem. Perhaps this work, is by the famous Kutahya potter, David Ohannesian, who founded the art of Armenian pottery in Jerusalem in 1919. Diameter 20.5 cm (or 8 in) and weight 415 gr. There are some chips (I show them in a very close-up photo) and natural cracking due to the many years. Its condition is good to very good.
