Beautiful vintage wool Navajo rug with a fleeing roadrunner. Colors cascade from off white through red/burgundy to black. The rug measures 42 inches long by 30 inches wide and about 1/4 inch thick.  My walls are yellow and the shot of the whole rug picked up the yellow color.  It's primarily grey as seen in the smaller photos.  I have added two more pictures taken from my covered deck where you can see the actual background color is more grey than brown.

"The roadrunner's distinctive X-shaped footprints are used by Native American and Mexican cultures as sacred symbols to ward off evil. The X shape disguises the direction the bird is heading, and is thought to prevent evil spirits from following."

Only selling because I have moved to a smaller home and there is no good place to show off the subtle beauty of this rug anymore.  It looks especially fabulous in a wood cabin.

Preferred method of cleaning for woven wool rugs is vacuuming.  With all their cracks and crevices, they do collect dust. It is not recommended to dry clean or otherwise use chemicals on woven rugs/mats etc, chemicals can break down and discolor the fibers.
