Original 1898 Franz Josef I Coronation Jubilee Medal, 

Military type mounted on civilian ribbon.
(Militär-Jubiläumsmedaille 1898).

Instituted in 1898 by Emperor Franz Joseph, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his reign (Golden Jubilee).

Military personnel wore the decoration on a breast triangular ribbon of plain red color with a width of about 40 mm.

Military version of this medal differs from civilian one also in the circular inscription written on the obverse side

(ending with ...AC AP REX HVNG instead of .. ET REX AP HVNG as on civilian version)

The medal is made of gold-plated bronze. Diameter ca 35 mm.
Comes mounted on original trifolded ribbon for civilian type of this medal.

The ribbon is UV NEGATIVE.
