David Goldbaum (1858 - 1930) was born in Mexico, was educated in the United States in San Francisco and at the Colorado School of Mines and returned to live in Ensenada in his 30s. He worked as a surveyor and mining engineer, and was mayor of Ensenada at the time of his death.
