offered is a very nice 1930’s art deco Evans trig-a-lite automatic evans pocket petrol lighter. the chrome plated lighter features a french black lacquer twin stripe edge design.  the Evans is marked trigalite on the flint screw. this Evans body style was first designed in 1929 by Alfred Reilly. Evans case company of Attleboro, Mass. was an important manufacturer of vanity compact cases - cigarette cases - jewelry and lighters. the Evans measures about 1-1/2" tall x 1-3/8" wide and is in very good lite used untested condition. the mechanism has strong action and should operate with service of flint and fuel. the lighter looks better in person. overall - an important Evans modernist art deco automatic lighter for your collection.
