Item Description
This listing  from a smoke free home  is for a professionally graded CGC 9.2 (NM-) with perfect WHITE pages copy of HULK: RAGING THUNDER #1 (Marvel Comics, 8/2008), $4.99 NEWSSTAND EDITION VARIANT VERSION, featuring the 1ST APPEARANCE and ORIGIN of LYRA, aka SHE-HULK II (daughter of HULK and THUNDRA).
As a "one-shot" issue, Marvel did not bother to create a whole new UPC code for the book for newsstands, and instead "borrowed" a UPC code from another title -- coding it under the "Avengers Classic" title (only those newsstand outlets receiving that title would have gotten copies).  And perhaps to help compensate for the low expected newsstand distribution, Marvel decided to demand a full $1 more per copy of the book on newsstands -- that's right, something exceptionally cool about this particular issue is that the NEWSSTAND version was also A COVER PRICE VARIANT OF THE ISSUE NUMBER, with newsstand copies having a 4.99 cover price, as compared to regular copies (regular being the prevalent DIRECT EDITIONS sold in comic shops) meanwhile having a 3.99 cover price.
Due to this cover price difference CGC gives newsstand copies of the issue a DISTINCT CENSUS ENTRY, i.e. the 4.99 Newsstand Edition is not a pedigree but a VARIANT at CGC for the issue and thus we can see the distinct census count of newsstand copies: SIX NEWSSTAND COPIES EXIST IN CGC UNIVERSAL GRADE AS OF 4/20/2024.
With fantastic cover by superstar Greg Land, and featuring Lyra's first appearance, this NM- grade w/WHITE PAGES copy is an awesome collectible to add to your SHE-HULK collection, and should also appeal to cover price variant collectors, and any connoisseurs of hard-to-find late-modern NEWSSTAND comics with key first appearances. Don't wait: BID NOW!
 Shipping Information
Package weight for me to ship one carefully-boxed slab is a 3lb box; additional comics can be combined and I've configured my settings to add add 2lb for each additional comic.  "Calculated shipping" has been enabled where eBay will automatically calculate your actual shipping cost, and the offered domestic shipping services are USPS Priority Mail, USPS Parcel Ground, UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or FedEx Home Delivery.  For international buyers, I have checked the box to participate in eBay's International Shipping Program.  I have 20 years of experience selling comics on eBay and always take great care to package rare comics well for shipment — my assumption when packing, is that the box will be dropped on its corner by a postal worker, and therefore needs to be protected accordingly.  I am a collector like you and I've received my fair (unfair) share of cracked cases and bent-up books.  So rest assured, great care will be taken to see that the comic will reach you safely; some of my positive eBay feedback responses include these comments: "The Best Packing I've Ever Seen", "Fast international shipping, bomb-proof packaging", "Lightning fast! Book very well packed, could have survived nuclear attack!"
