A boxed late 19th (or very early 20th) century unweighted English Staunton-style 'Popular' chess set from the British Chess Company (BCC). King is near 3 1/2 in (8.7 cm). Pieces are in good condition commensurate with their age and have no issues or damage apart from small splits in some blacks (which can be part-remedied by simply rubbing in black wax from a school crayon and polishing off the excess). Pieces have be re-felted as has the Victorian slide-lid box they come in. This is a clean & tidy playing set with a warm golden patina - please examine the photos for condition.
