This 13" vintage wooden whistler automaton by Karl Griesbaum, circa 1925 Germany is modeled after Johann Anddreas Eisenbarth, an early travelling medicine man, surgeon and self-titled miracle worker who travelled the country, performing operations and selling medicine at fairs and markets, accompanied by a troop of 120 musicians, dancers and jugglers, and is a true gem for collectors.

He is in very good condition. He has his original key and turns his head back and forth when you wind him, but he doesn't whistle because his bellows need to be repaired. He also has his original sticker on the base.
