France, Medal, Commandant Jacques Yves Cousteau, French Fifth Republic


NOTE:  This is the Same Commemorative Medal you see listed for $30-80 on eBay.   I was able to purchase a small box of these original medals in a local estate auction of an elderly collector of art.   I'm only selling the ones in good condition with no major flaws.  They might have small spots or imperfections like this one but nothing bad.   Not actual medal sold in picture but they all look pretty good.   The bad ones Im going to melt.

Diameter: 90mm (approx.3.5") Weight: approx. 212g / 6.82toz  Edge/Relief: 8mm A medal in Zamak (zinc / aluminum with bronze plating I believe), by R. Duboc, Robert Laffont ed, in good condition, highly collectable medal !


Jacques-Yves Cousteau (11 June 1910 – 25 June 1997) was a French naval officer, explorer, ecologist, filmmaker, photographer and researcher who studied the sea and all forms of life in water. He co-developed the aqua-lung, pioneered marine conservation and was a member of the Académie française.
