About the company Spielwarenmacher Günther

The company was founded in 1914 by Rudolf Frohs. The workshop building was built in 1928. In 1958, Rudolf Froh's grandson, Johannes Günther, took over the business and expanded the assembly room in 1990/91. In 1997 Tino Günther took over the business. As a result, the business remained in family ownership and the tradition could be continued. Artist dolls, wooden dolls, doll houses and furniture, plush toys and wooden toys are produced. In 2000 a new workshop building was completed. Her shop has been present at Christmas markets since 2001 and offers Christmas products and wooden toys. This year they took part in the Plauen Christmas market. This connection led them to develop a completely new arrangement in 2002. They are proud of their Erzgebirge candle arch with Plauen lace. In 2003 another innovation was introduced, the Frauenkirche candle arch. They also took part in the Christmas market in Lutherstadt/Wittenberg and the Christkindli market in Zurich. 2004 was an exciting year. On the one hand, they have since been offering candle arches for leasing so that people without much storage space in their apartment can enjoy the traditional Erzgebirge Christmas, and on the other hand, they made an appearance on “MDR um twelve”. In 2005 they developed tea light attachments for normal pyramids and have been offering them ever since. The employees at Spielwarenmacher Günther pay attention to original Erzgebirge craftsmanship, but use the following machines for their production to ensure successful work. A band saw used for manual rounding and pattern making; a circular saw used for cutting boards and making grooves; a table milling machine, which is needed for extreme milling work such as stars and profiles; a crown saw for the slices of the pyramids; a hand lathe; a spraying shop with the technical requirements for an explosion-proof room and strict fire protection and a grinding machine.
