  • Beschreibung: Das Stichwerk präsentiert eine antike Ruinenstätte an der Gräberstraße von Pompeji. Im Vordergrund bevölkern Figuren und Tiere einen Pfad, der zu einem teilweise erodierten, säulenumstandenen Grabbau auf einer Anhöhe führt. Auch zeigt sich eine elegische Himmelsstimmung durch dezente Wolkenformationen.

Auf dem Blattrand rechts zwei kleine Einstiche. Die Blattecken sind minimal bestoßen. Unten links diagonale Knickspur. Rechts mittig kleiner Stoßschaden.

  • Description: This engraving depicts an ancient ruin site on the Pompeii burial route. In the foreground, figures and animals populate a path leading to a partially eroded, columned tomb on a hill. Subtle cloud formations also create an elegiac atmosphere in the sky.

  • Condition: Defective condition. Foxing is visible on the entire sheet. Large liquid stain at top left. Small pale liquid stain at top centre. Two small punctures on the right edge of the sheet. The corners of the sheet are minimally bumped. Lower left diagonal crease. Small impact damage to centre right.
