Beautiful tea set made at the Coalport factory circa 1820.

The cup is made in the famous “London” shape, introduced by Spode in 1813, and is instantly recognisable as the handles were always almost vertical with just a slight splayed angle, the saucer is a deep tea dish.

This fabulous set is decorated with an early transfer print and hand-coloured in bright enamels over the glaze and then hand gilded. The pattern consists of leaved branches around a central flower vase.

Pattern # 696 marked in iron red to most pieces.

Milk Jug – 10cm x 16.5 cm lip to handle – firing crack at base of handle and tiny amount of gilding rub.

Rectangular Tray/Saucer – 19.5 cm x 15.5 cm – tiny piece of enamel missing from leaves.

Lovely condition, fabulous colours, over 200 years old. However there may be some spots of light age related crazing and slight staining present.

Please look at photos.
