I installed a Noctua NF-A6x25 FLXfan hoping to lose the 'fan has stopped working' annoying popups (everytime the fan turned off) but googling the issue turns out it's just a well known issue. The new fan is substantially quieter than the og fan so it was still a good upgrade. Certainly, the NAS never got hot or shutdown.
