South Carolina Folk Art Primitive Pottery Big Spur Cocky University Mascot Ed Berdej ? featuring Cocky as an Ocarina   Incredible piece. done by a master Potter -- This bird looks incredible the textures & colors.  He is wearing a Jersey (within the pottery) & the Front Reads in large letters S.C.  Believe this is the University of South Carolina Mascot who used to be a Rooster, then became Big Spur then became Cocky. a Wonderful Creation This pottery is designed into an Ocarina Whistle.   it is quite a fantastic piece.   Bottom has an impressed hallmark (see closeup) not positive it is Berdej work but if not an outstanding piece w similarity This Bird is priceless.  he measures 6 3/4" tall  the coloring and design is outstanding.  He is quite heavy too.  He has a little bit of a belly & he is definitely a Rooster, but one of the best roosters I have ever seen.  pictures below
