This manual focus 100mm f/2.8 seres E is a high-quality lens compatible with most Nikon F mount cameras.
A maximum aperture of f/2.8 allows for beautiful bokeh and great low light performance.
This lens is perfect for those who are looking to capture stunning portraits and close-up shots down to 1 meter.
Made in Japan, this lens is a reliable and long-lasting investment.

This lens excels in low light photography where zooming is not needed. Great for taking pictures of live bands under stage lighting or for portraits in natural light.  The 100mm Series E is sharp, fast, small, and lightweight. If you don’t need autofocus and an ability to zoom you can’t get better performance in a smaller, tougher, lighter package.

This Series E lens is mechanically superior to most modern AF Nikkor lenses. It has a solid metal 52mm filter thread and an aluminum focusing helicoid.  The higher serial number of this lens means it is the newest version with a silver grab ring and smaller focusing ring nubs which looks very similar to more expensive Nikkor AI and AI-s lenses.

Works great with most Nikon cameras, 35mm and digital. Should work flawlessly with every manual focus Nikon ever made, although it will require stop-down or manual metering with cameras made before 1977. Should meter perfectly with every 35mm Nikon made since 1977.

On the better Digital Nikon bodies choose the "Non-CPU Lens Data" menu option and set 100mm and f/2.8 to get full color matrix metering, EXIF data and in viewfinder read-out of the set aperture. It works great in aperture-preferred as well as manual modes on camera with this feature.  It will also add Matrix metering on the FA, F4, and F6.

The meters of lesser Nikon digital (like the D50, D90, etc.) and newer Nikon film cameras (the N80, N65, etc.) will not couple or work at all with this lens, so you'll be on your own guessing exposure and using the rear LCD or an external meter, or get a tiny handheld light meter to meter manually.
