Re-listed because of a time-waster non-paying 'buyer'.

A Leica I camera converted from model A to model C, as many were, to enable the use of interchangeable lenses and a rarely added flash contact was added to the top plate. When this camera was converted, presumably in the 1930s, the brass body was repainted and although much worn off in parts now the paint still obscures much of the markings, only the Wetzlar is emerging from the enamel. The serial number must be less than 37000 (1930 date) because from that number the top plate was held on by six rather than this example's four screws. The shutter works at all speeds and sounds right.

Fitted to it is a pre-1932 (no serial number and 50mm, not 5cm) Leitz Elmar f=50mm f/3.5 lens in nickel that is in excellent optical and mechanical condition. The going rate from dealers for this lens in this condition makes it worth the starting price alone.

A usable classic camera in good working order with a rare early lens.
