This is the first American edition printing, specially published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 1987. This publication was in celebration of Dahl’s 70th birthday (9/13/86). The first UK edition was published one year prior. Included are two, adult themed fables.

This book is in excellent condition. The spine is square. The pages are white and unmarked. No foxing spots anywhere. The boards are nice and the silver gilt lettering on the black cloth over the spine is sharp and bright.

The dust jacket is in very good condition. The original price of $12.95 is marked in the upper corner and has not been clipped. The underside of the dj looks to have tanned a little but there are no foxing spots. The inner flaps of the cover look to have tanned but they are uniform and I believe that is their original color. The surface shows minor wear from rubbing other books.
