TRUE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
1. WOOL and JUTE COLLECTION
Each handmade rug begins its journey with the careful selection of the finest wool and Jute. Our skilled artisans source premium quality wool and Jute from high-altitude regions, where the climate contributes to the superior texture and durability of the fibres. The wool is meticulously cleaned and processed to ensure it meets our rigorous standards, resulting in a soft, resilient base for our rugs.
2. WOOLEN YARN SPINNING
Once the wool is processed, it is spun into yarn by master spinners who employ traditional techniques passed down through generations. Using a drop spindle or spinning wheel, they transform the raw wool into uniform, strong yarns that retain the natural warmth and sheen of the original fibres. This step is crucial in setting the foundation for the rug's intricate patterns and textures.
3. DYE YARN.
The spun yarn undergoes a dying process that utilizes natural and eco-friendly dyes. Our dye masters carefully mix plant-based and mineral dyes to create a rich palette of colours, ensuring that each hue is vibrant and long-lasting. The yarn is dyed in small batches, allowing for precision and consistency, and then hung to dry in the open air, enhancing the colours' depth and luminosity.
4. DESIGN
t form in itself. Our designers draw inspiration from a blend of traditional motifs and contemporary aesthetics, creating unique patterns that are both timeless and modern. Detailed sketches and colour plans are crafted to guide the weavers, ensuring that every rug is a true work of art. Each design tells a story, reflecting cultural heritage and artistic vision.
5. WEAVEN HAND KNOTT
The heart of the rug-making process is the hand-knotting technique. Our skilled weavers painstakingly tie thousands of knots per square inch, a process that can take months to complete depending on the rug's size and complexity. Using a loom, the weavers follow the design blueprint, knotting each piece of dyed yarn into the warp threads to create a dense, durable, and beautifully patterned rug. This labour-intensive method results in a rug that is both unique and exceptionally crafted.
6. WASHING
After the weaving is complete, the rug undergoes an initial washing to remove any impurities and set the colours. This washing process is done by hand using gentle, eco-friendly soaps and cold water, ensuring that the wool retains its natural oils and softness. The rug is then carefully rinsed and hung to dry, preparing it for the next stages of finishing.
7. CLIPP AND BINDING
Once dry, the rug is clipped and bound to refine its texture and shape. Expert clippers trim the pile to an even height, enhancing the clarity and definition of the design. The edges of the rug are then bound, either by hand or with a sewing machine, to prevent fraying and add a polished finish. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that the rug is not only beautiful but also durable and long-lasting.
8. FINAL WASH AND DRYING
The final step in the process is another round of washing and drying. This second wash is crucial for softening the fibres and bringing out the rug's natural lustre. The rug is washed by hand and then laid flat to dry in the sun, allowing the colours to settle and the wool and jute to regain their full softness. This final touch ensures that your rug arrives at your home with a luxurious feel and a vibrant, enduring beauty.

Embrace the elegance and craftsmanship of our handmade wool Jute rugs, each piece a testament to the time-honoured traditions and meticulous care of our artisans. Perfect for adding warmth, beauty, and a touch of heritage to any space.
