On offer here a presumably perfect, still Factory Sealed copy of the renowned piano Virtuoso, Jorge Bolet, playing some of his favorite recital and Encore works, including some superb, amazing concert rarities by pianist-composer Leopold Godowsky (one of Bolet's most admired teachers) who gave his star pupil direct instruction on how best to perform Godowsky's own, fiendishly difficult, superlative keyboard transcriptions of great orchestral showpieces. Bolet (1914-1990), who trained at Curtis, won the coveted Naumberg Prize, taught in America's greatest conservatories, and gave masterclasses on beloved Romantic-era masterpieces throughout the world, had the prime technique, performing panache, and masterly elan to pull off these wonders of pianism with aplomb. Bolet always preferred massive Bechstein concert grand pianos and his life-long fidelity to that imposing brand is reflected here since he recorded this recital on an especially magnificent Bechstein for this disk (see detailed liner notes). From exterior packaging and dating (1987), probable First Edition and First Pressing of this critically celebrated London (Decca) disk made even better with preferred Dutch Digital Stereo processing and manufacture. Sleeve also perfect. Not a Cut-Out or Punch-Out. Looks as if printed yesterday. An Album Rarity in this un-played condition for sure and one of the great recorded monuments of Bolet's eminent, audacious, and glorious concert career.
