17th century
Antique Delft Tile, 17th century, earthenware made in Delft, Holland. Nice hand painted scene in cobalt blue on cream background. Thanks to an eBay scholar the description of the scene is “…man is a shepherd and with his stick…he troughs mud with this stick to the sheep, so they come back to him…”
Size: 5” x 5” x 3/8”
Condition is commensurate with its age. Executed in cobalt blue on cream background. With some scratches, chips, crackling of glaze and some plaster remnants on back and edges.
