1998 Volkswagen Transporter 2.5 TDi T4 Syncro with diff lock.
203,600 miles.
Cambelt and water pump replaced at 188k.
Rebuilt injector pump at 186k.
Two keys and a folder full of history.
12 months MOT.
Genuine VW Caravelle leather seats with working arm rests, door linings and carpet.

I raised the van having added 235/70/16 by the usual torsion bars on the front, lowered the rear differential with a spacer bar and the rear driveshaft bracket too.
The arches needed welding for the recent MOT.  I had the lower and middle side door runners replaced too.

I originally bought this van back in 2008.  I used it daily for my commute to work.  I then sold it to a lady who only put a thousand miles on it in five years.  I bought it back in 2016.  Decent head unit and the IPod will come with it.

It’s averaging 7k miles a year and has the usual rust patches. It doesn’t lose water or oil.

I’ve been through Europe twice in it, several road trips and it’s been super reliable.  I’ve never carried or towed significant weight with it.  I’ve used it as a basic camper, collecting firewood, tip runs, carrying my mountain bike and my kayaks.

I have a Land Rover 110 and the Syncro will outperform the Defender in the snow.  Competent off road.

The bodywork has the usual rust patches.  The sunroof in the rear keeps out most of the water…

It’s an unusual looking Syncro and you’ll get plenty of smiles driving it.

I’m selling because I’ve bought a LWB T5 4motion.
