the seki6000 was side unloading 4 axle wagon of which 1509 were modified from seki3000s in 1968 by JNR in house manufacturing centers to increase operating speed to 65 kph......capable of carrying 30 ton of coal, the cars were re assigned mainly to the hokkaido region, japan's coal producing center.....the upgraded wagons lasted in service until 1998, as japanese coal became increasingly uncompetitive.

i acquired this set as part of a 3 set purchase from a private party who asseverated that the wagons were unused - purchased for visual display only.........upon arrival, the collector's claim had the ring of verisimilitude as clean wheel sets and pristine bodies characterized all of the 6 cars.........this set had a slightly perceivable flaw in the packaging:  a 3/8/inch long plastic split on the upper right hand surface of the top half of the jewelry case storage unit.......the flaw is aesthetic only; the integrity of the packaging is not compromised......

the only accessories for the set are the brake and unloading wheels whose installation has been obviated by the collector as either he or the brick and mortar shop of original purchase has performed the not formidable assignment.......

i have reduced the price of this set slightly because of the packaging imperfection.........
