Solid silver snuff/ vinaigrette??

Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1843.

The box is in great condition, with no knocks or damage.

Weight approx 65gms.

Dimensions: 52mm by 33mm by 35mm.

I'm really unsure about the actual use of this box, as it opens from both the top and bottom.

Sorry for not being clear on this, but I've genuinely no idea.

A very nice and desirable box.
