So we run a "clean out" service and we are hired to clear out houses that are going up for sale/rent, ends of estate sales or when folks are planning to move and want to trim down a bit on what they have in the house/shed/attic/garage. But so often we see so many great things get thrown away that we decided to try to salvage some of it.

Ok - back to some art. I think. I guess you can call this art? It appears to be an older family crest or coat of arms. Definitely appears to be hand painted and the backing on it is so old that it crumbles if you don't handle it carefully. For the life of me I can't make out that name though. Sometimes it looks like Hamrick, other times Lamrick or Lawrick or Hawrick. Freakin' old English lettering. Can't make out half the letters. Is than an H or L at the start? And that middle letter - it looks the same if you flip it upside down or right side up. Is it a M or a W? I've been staring at this thing way too long.

But it's in really good shape - again it took some cleaning. And there's some dirt under the glass I can't get to. Not without tearing the backing off and pulling it out. Which I am tempted to do just to see if there's more info underneath. But that coat of arms cracks me up. Got the regal knight head on top. Then some kind of 3 legged bird. Then a....well....I have no idea what that second thing is. Looks like every animal combined. Only thing it's missing is a fish tail. But what I love is in the third box on the right - there's 3 stars and apples? Tomatoes? Rocks? Potatoes? Reminds me of the Onion Knight from Game of Thrones.

So all-in-all I can't figure out a thing about this other than it's old and it's some family's coat of arms. Maybe someone out there will have more info and let us know. If so I'll post it.

Don't know much more than that - but please look closely at the pics and let me know if there are specific things you want me to look at or take pics of. We will provide whatever we can. We are no experts on these items - it's completely random as to what we might find.

Couple of FYI & CYA notes - we are offering more shipping options for things that might be more fragile and need to be handled better to ensure their safety. Obviously a bit more cost for better service from the PO - but we will leave that up to the person who purchases. And if someone wants even more specialized shipping let us know and we will work out the details/cost with you.

Also - since a lot of these items are older and some are difficult to determine their origin - we can't be responsible for anything after a person has received their purchase. Obviously we will honor everything up to that point - we want you to get what is in the auction - customer comes first. But once it reaches you in the same condition we sent it in - then we have to rely on the buyer to assume responsibility of the item from that point onward.
