Resistol Vintage 3X Beaver Las Vegas Mink Size 7 3/8 LO

The hat is in great vintage condition with minor signs of wear and age. There is some fading of the felt but no moth bites or other damage. Please see all photos to get the best evaluation of condition.

The hat has a 6 1/2” open crown and is very clean with minimal crease marks (see last three pics). With some steam/water the felt is easily shaped into other styles like Gus, Tom Mix, Montana, Rancher, telescope, etc. I’ve shaped the hat into a pinch front western fedora style and that is how it will be shipped to you.

Sizing — everyone’s head size and shape is different and you should not expect a hat purchased online to fit perfectly out of the box. When the hat has a size tag I provide that information but it can differ from true size especially for vintage hats. I measure the interior circumference with a cloth tape and provide that information but this is not exact and the taper of the crown will affect size based on where it sits on your head. Some hats can be stretched 1/8” or so but you need special stretching equipment to do it safely and some hats cannot be stretched at all without distorting the crease or damaging the sweatband. A hat that is too big can typically be remedied with foam spacers (or simply a folded up paper towel) behind the sweatband at strategic locations. Please plan accordingly when purchasing a hat and remember that it is safest to err on the side of getting a hat that is larger than your measured head size. When all else fails, I do offer returns/refunds but buyer pays for all shipping costs.

Shipping — the safest way to ship a hat is within a hat box that is shipped inside another box. However, shipping cost would then be prohibitively expensive. A compromise is to ship a hat within a right sized box (say 16x14x6) that safely contains the hat but is below the cubic foot USPS limit. However, even with packing paper, a hat can shift within the box and become distorted and may not exactly match the photos. This is especially true for soft fur felt hats. Some mis-shaping is to be expected and a hat may require a bit of hand shaping (with perhaps some steam) to get the hat back in shape. Please plan accordingly when purchasing a hat.
