Ok - all you techie folks out there - like me - might love this one. It's an old-school Motorola flip phone from back when phones were the size of a toaster. This thing is great - it's bulky and has no functionality other than making and receiving calls. And I love that they don't even call it a cell phone - it's a "Personal Digital Communicator". Sounds like something from Star Trek. And it's the Special Edition 2. Wouldn't the first special edition be the special edition? Once you reach special edition 2 - then it's not that special anymore, eh?

I do remember these - always loved them. Still not the holy grail I'm after - the ultimate brick phones from the 80s - but this one is still pretty epic. And it's a Motorola - who have been producing communication devices since WW2 and before. There's this old Motorola box phone (like WW2 era) that I'm still trying to get a guy to part with. It's in his store as display - every time I'm in there I ask if it's for sale and I get shot down. But I have faith that if I wear him down and annoy him enough - maybe one day he will sell it. Just to get rid of me.

I have not been able to test it to see if it still works - I think the charger for this probably went down with the Titanic. But I'm trying to find one - see if I can at least charge it up to get the screen active. Obviously won't connect and be able to make calls - unless you are trying to call 1995. If you do get up with them - tell them to avoid the grunge phase. If I do get it charged I'll update the auction.

So the full description is a Motorola NYNEX Mobile Special Edition II and ran on the Bell Atlantic provider. It comes in a leather case and has that great pull up antenna - which they used prior to embedding the antenna inside the phone. It's in really great shape but as mentioned - I have not been able to test it. I pulled the battery off and you can see the model number is 76459WNRSA.

Please look closely at the pics and let us know if there are specific things you want us to look at or take pics of. We will provide whatever we can.

Couple of FYI & CYA notes - we are offering more shipping options for things that might be more fragile and need to be handled better to ensure their safety. Obviously a bit more cost for better service from the PO - but we will leave that up to the person who purchases. And if someone wants even more specialized shipping let us know and we will work out the details/cost with you.

Also - since a lot of these items are older and some are difficult to determine their origin - we can't be responsible for anything after a person has received their purchase. Obviously we will honor everything up to that point - we want you to get what is in the auction - customer comes first. But once it reaches you in the same condition we sent it in - then we have to rely on the buyer to assume responsibility of the item from that point onward.
